How To Train Your Dog

It’s a pleasure to own a dog. However, it’s not that easy to take care of dogs and its especially difficult to train them.

You should take over a number of responsibilities when keeping a pet dog and one of your foremost responsibilities should be in training them. Dog training is important since in general, taking care of and loving a well-trained pet becomes easier and more enjoyable for both parties. Additionally, once trained they should cause less damage to your home. Indeed without proper training, your dog can destroy your belongings, fight other dogs, bark without reason, dig holes in your yard, and even bite people, including you!

A good dog trainer can prevent this. As a training method many dog owners train dogs by implementing punishments. However, this method can hardly prove to be effective and reasonable since it may frighten the animal. This may lead to the dog demonstrating aggressive behavior.

For instance, if your dog jumps over you when you come home from work, don’t shout at him. Simply cross your arms and turn round. If he whines or barks, don’t speak to him, just ignore him. Pay attention to him, caress and pat on him as soon as he calms down. If your dog chews on your shoe, don’t scream. Indeed you should take the shoe away and immediately replace it with a toy for them to chew on. Then you should pat him and praise him.

It’s very necessary to practice a positive dog training. In fact, a positive training regime covers two important points; namely disregarding bad behavior and encouraging good behavior.

If you are unwilling or too busy to train your canine friend, perhaps you should seek help from a professional.
